Units

Tamarack is home to approximately 470 campers and close to 200 staff. There are four units at Tamarack. Each unit has their own counsellors and Unit Head.

  • Hawthorns (+Acorns): 7-10 years old.
  • Junipers: 11-12 years old
  • Sequoias: 13-14 years old
  • Elders: 15-16 years old

Schedule

Tamarack takes pride in making sure each and every camper receives the perfect amount of each activity throughout the summer.

On a daily basis (Monday – Saturday) campers are programmed as follows:

  • 1compulsory swim instruction session
  • 2 cabin periods
  • 2 choice periods (chosen by the campers)

The week concludes with SUPER SUNDAY, a unique day which includes a sleep in, buffet breakfast, outdoor lunch and fun filled day of open activities for the campers to participate in.

In the evenings, each unit participates in an organized evening programme. A typical programme can range from Stockticker and Capture the Flag to Gladiators and Live at the Improv.

Friday nights are Showtime at Tamarack. Campers are entertained by Broadway style musical productions, talent shows, dance shows, music shows and video shows.

And to top every evening off, campers receive an evening snack back at the cabin.
